This lovely #Stewart #longboard came to me with”wonky” glassed on fin.

The fin had been botched by another “repair guy”

Note how it leans to the right.

Cut cleanly, that brown area is not a good sign…

Evidence of previous water intrusion.

If in doubt cut it out, the flexy fin was due to the de-lam at the fin base.

De lam sorted, fin glassed on with fin rope and

multiple staggered layers of 6oz glass.

Some jobs just take longer than others, as the stringer and foam

were wet – well that has to dry out before any of the rebuilding can begin.

This classic log is now ready for pivot turns and noserides.

Wonder if the wonky fin helped his backhand turns?

Bournemouth Pier surf

Just had a lovely fun session at “The Pier“, crowded due to us surfers being wave starved for two weeks.

I have the answer…put a massive BIC windsurf fin in your 8ft Hull and have a blast..

Wetsuit is cool but the single fin is just perfect in my eyes.

James Jones sporting a cool steamer from Surfer house, back in the 70s. For men’s  wetsuits  they placed the front zips a little off centre, that’s just the way they did it, and women’s suits the zip was in the middle of the chest. They still look great made this way and it is definitely the new hip way to order a fullsuit if you want to stand out in the log riding crowd this winter. Get on it early and rock this trend before the Japanese jump on it and make you look like wannabe, thank you.
